There is nothing preventing MJs family from filing a civil case against AG or KR and CT immediately. One has nothing to do with the other, and they are not mutually exclusive.

Convicted or not, the plaintiff can still go after the money (although there probably isnt much there to get).

Maybe there is some strategy at play in the CTKRAG case with the civil cases.

Maybe there would be a postponement of the civil trial until the criminal trial is over, so as to not compromise CTKRAG’s “rights”…that would be my guess…civil defendants often get called to the stand, where they have no obligation to do so in the criminal case…but they can still invoke the 5th in the civil trial.

It sucks to be them…

Remember also that the burden of proof in a civil case is much less than it is in a criminal case. OJ may have snuck out on the criminal charges, but he got found liable for the deaths in the civil case. Even if AG is convicted or not of his charges, he might also be liable civilly for his participation in the crimes…

I’ll bet CT and KR get served a civil case as well, maybe sooner rather than later, since they havent been covicted yet, they can probably still sell their story for profit. Not sure they can profit from their crime story if they are sent up the river…Either way, they are going to have a hangover from this case for a hella long time.
