i do not understand what melissa’s parents want from this guy. he can not have any money and was dumb to get involved in this whole situation. i can understanding them going after craig and kelly but this guy? why take the time?

  2. Old Time Fitness Competitor Says:

Just my thoughts but people sue for everything these days…….maybe it is giving Melissa’s family some sort of mental relief just suing the guy. Kind of retaliation or revenge for lack of a better way to put it. I imagine if i were in their position I would do anything and everything to screw up the lives of the people involved in my daughters death.

  3. BS Says:

It’s not a bad idea for the family to at the very least have a judgment attached to Mr. Gross.

If he were fortunate enough to win a lottery, big at the casinos or even inherit a small fortune then the family would have something in place in the unlikely event one of these things happened for Mr. Gross. It’s a long shot but even people like Anthony Gross can have a lucky streak, after all he is still a very young man.

  4. Peter Says:

Now I am really pissed. Like the rest of you I have waited a long time for the CT/KR trial to begin. I had planned to follow it on Court-TV in June. Guess what, Court-TV is closing down Jan 1! Not happy.

  5. BS Says:

This is the first I’ve heard of Court TV closing down. Where the hell is my memo?

  6. Administrator Says:

It’s changing it’s name to truTV. Will the trial be covered on TV? We’ll let you know.

  7. Peter Says:

Administrator, we are all grateful for the site. BUT, you have to find a way to record the trial and take us into the courtroom via TV! :)

We’ve waited 2 1/2 years. It would be cruel and unusual punishment not to be aboe to follow the trial as it happens.

  8. Administrator Says:

If you look at an earlier post regarding the judge, you’ll see her connection to high profile cases. Look for a few cameras to be in the courtroom. Many news organizations have things in the can waiting to be aired when the trial begins.

  9. Dennis L. Bates / Founder / Muscle Missions Says:

Great to see a copy of the King James Holy Bible being offered on this site.

As of 2 p.m. (EST) today, a banner offering a King James Holy Bible was appearing on the right hand column of the home page of this site. It would be nice to see the offer stay there.

Everyone should own an Authorized King James Bible and study it daily.

Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
    - 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

  10. shockandawe Says:

    ….always an answer.

  11. Peter Says:

    Re; Muscle Mission

The Holy Bible is a work of fiction and the greatest bloody (literally) hoax perpetrated on humankind. The sooner we’re rid of religion, the better.

Muscle Mission is one of the most absurd and ridiculous websites ever invented.

    Peter Ehrlich

  12. A Skeptic Says:

    Here ya go Bates

Read this and give me your thoughts. I’m a Christian “juicing for Jesus” if you will. But- tell me what you think?

Personally you should keep religion out of this murder case! And not bank on the Bible being the answer to a lot of unknown facts.

  13. shockandawe Says:

I’m not sure that you can separate defendants in a case when it comes to civil. I would think that you could based on the fact that there has been no conviction and innocent until proven guilty, yadda yadda yadda. But, I am assuming that they are wanting to attach all assets for the rest of anyone’s natural life. That means, if they slip through the cracks, they pay and pay and pay and pay and pay… It’s essential hell on the outisde, instead of the inside. It’s saying, “You may be able to slide out on a technicality (which Gross might more than the others) but you helped kill and/ or dispose of my daughter’s body - you’ll pay!”

Personally, I think it’s what they should be doing. I would, and I would think that any attorney representing them would recommend it. I think it’s fairly standard.

  14. Dennis L. Bates / Founder / MUSCLE MISSIONS Says:

Those that are operating the skeptic site that you reference above are obviously ashamed of God’s Word.

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. - Luke 9:26 (KJV)

  15. darkstar Says:

    Mr. Bates,

Not sure how you so “obviously” construe one being “sceptical” with being “ashamed”…it makes no sense, like most of your goofy posts. You are “obviously” putting words and definitions of your own toward the sceptic website and applying them to promote your own agenda.

I do not think there is a requirement that MJs family sue CT and KR AND/OR AG together. My guess is that the civil suit against CT and KR is coming, but later.
Maybe MJs family thinks AG may beat the rap, or maybe get a shorter sentence, etc, meaning he would be out and ostensibly working somewhere, meaning, he would have some means they could go after…Like you or someone said though, civil suits in these situations are more to handcuff the criminal defendants with more financial grief for many years to come. Civil and criminal cases are not mutually exclusive. It may not be the best example, but look at OJ…he will have that civil judgment dogging him for the rest of his life, regardless of what else happens to him, like in that new Vegas case against him.

If I was MJs family, Id sue all the defendants civilly, just to be a pain in the ass. They will win their case, but wont have much to show for it. It just mires the defendants deeper into the shit. Still not much consolation for the loss of their family member…

  16. Dennis L. Bates / Founder / MUSCLE MISSIONS Says:

    Not so.

I was asked what my thoughts were regarding the skeptics web site. I took a look at it…a close look at it. I didn’t just examine one word found in the URL of the web address that was given, like many others might have done… (i.e. SKEPTICS annotated bible.com)

Upon examination, it didn’t take long for me to come to my conclusion.

Whoever is operating that particular web site is ashamed of the gospel and they admit it.

In describing how they put their skeptics annotated bible together, they state: “passages are highlighted that are an embarrassment to the Bible-believer…” (See: http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/preface.html)

True Bible believers are NOT embarrassed of God’s Word.

Putting it frankly, the operator of that web site is a liar in more ways than one.

The operator of that web site is ASHAMED of God’s Word like I said.

The operator of that web site uses the term “embarrassment”, which is a synonym for “ashamed”. Look it up yourself… http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/ashamed

    I rest my case.

    God’s Word stands true:

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels. - Luke 9:26 (KJV)

  17. Venice Says:

    Amen…AHHHmen…A-Amen - Amen Amen…

…On the loosely relevant topic of steroids and HGH…

…What do you guys think about Roger Clemens and Andy Petite and their trainer Brian McNamee going before Congress…

Clemons is digging himself a deeper and deeper hole…

I find it interesting that more isn’t done to prosecute BB’s - not that I’m in favor of it - I’m not - its just that Congress has such a hard-on for baseball - whereas football players almost get a pass…I mean you think Rodney Harrison

  18. Ace Says:

    I read the Bible daily.

Pontius Pilot was on the sauce.

  19. Orange roughy Says:

    Pontius Pilot was totally natural!!

  20. BS Says:

Religion is a crutch for the weak.

    - Governor Jesse Ventura

  21. darkstar Says:

    Mr Bates,

You still don’t get it. Embarrassed and ashamed are not the same. I will copy the Webster definitions of each here for you if you like.

YOU said, “the site operator is ASHAMED…”

The sentence you plucked from the website states “passages are highlighted that are an embarrassment to the Bible-believer…”

I think the site operator is neither ashamed nor embarrassed by the Bible. I doubt they are “true Bible believers”…so I dont think either word describes their motive for their commentary…

You can certainly have your own opinion, but to blatantly substitute two different words in a futile attempt to get your agenda across is transparent as glass…speaking of, those who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones…

Me thinks you might want to back off the KoolAid just a bit…

  22. Phil Says:

Ace… That was a classic post!

    I read the Bible daily.

Pontius Pilot was on the sauce.

  23. Phil Says:

That is a good post man!

  24. shockandawe Says:

You could be right Dark. I imagine AG will not by any means receive the same sentence, and could therefore be stalked financially by the family for the rest of his natural life. It sounds plausible.

I was just guessing about the other. But I also think that it is “logical” to assume a one-for-all/ all-for-one kind of civil suit would be filed. Don’t know why that’s so puzzling to people. I think it’s very matter-of-fact practice. If no rule exists, I’m sure it’s common, at the very least.

I am sure he’ll end up with 2 or 3 years or probation for 10 so that he can’t hang around nefarious characters like CT or KR.

  25. BS Says:

He could move to Florida. OJ is probably in need of a house sitter for the time being.

  26. msflafit Says:

You men are so passionate!!!! I love it!!! It is interesting to easedrop on a spiritual debate! I can just picture you on the top of a mountain with yor horns locked, breathe billowing, feet pounding, etc..

  27. BS Says:

If I end up on a mountain it will be my ashes in an empty “Chock Full of Nuts” coffee can like in “Bucket List”. If you haven’t seen the movie, you’re missing out.

  28. A Perfect Circle Says:

If you ended up on a mountain, you’ll be full of nuts??? No thanks!

  29. darkstar Says:

Remember also that the burden of proof in a civil case is much less than it is in a criminal case. OJ may have snuck out on the criminal charges, but he got found liable for the deaths in the civil case. Even if AG is convicted or not of his charges, he might also be liable civilly for his participation in the crimes…

I’ll bet CT and KR get served a civil case as well, maybe sooner rather than later, since they havent been covicted yet, they can probably still sell their story for profit. Not sure they can profit from their crime story if they are sent up the river…Either way, they are going to have a hangover from this case for a hella long time.

  30. shockandawe Says:

Without a doubt CT and KR will be served civilly. I think they have to wait until the trial is over though. I think they can still file civilly for assets (whatever might remain - hardy har har) even if they are convicted criminally.

No doubt their lives are over one way or another.

  31. darkstar Says:

There is nothing preventing MJs family from filing a civil case against AG or KR and CT immediately. One has nothing to do with the other, and they are not mutually exclusive.

Convicted or not, the plaintiff can still go after the money (although there probably isnt much there to get).

Maybe there is some strategy at play in the CTKRAG case with the civil cases.

Maybe there would be a postponement of the civil trial until the criminal trial is over, so as to not compromise CTKRAG’s “rights”…that would be my guess…civil defendants often get called to the stand, where they have no obligation to do so in the criminal case…but they can still invoke the 5th in the civil trial.

    It sucks to be them…

  32. Gear Head Says:

They WILL NOT have a Civil Trial before the Criminal Trial.. you box of shit! Who do you think you are? Anybody knows that ! What a MORON!

  33. darkstar Says:

    Gear Head,

I agree with you, but it doesnt mean it hasnt happened before.

Why are you being such an asshole? Go fuck yourself.

  34. Gear Head Says:

Sorry I came off like a “asshole”! If I could fuck myself I would. But, I read some of your post, and you come off like a “no it all” I’m a lawyer and half of the time you come off like you know everything! That’s it! Don’t take it personal. Just tone down your takes when you really don’t know what’s going to happen- ya know??? I apologize buddy! Have a great weekend……………….

  35. darkstar Says:

    Gear Head,

Says you…this is the internet, fool…you can say you are this or that or whatever…you can say you are the freaking king of england for all I care.

Nobody gives a shit whether you are a lawyer or not. This isnt a court room, and given the bombast with which you made your initial post, it appears you are nothing more than a shit stirrer with a miniscule peepee…

Take my advice, “counselor”…go fuck yourself.

  36. shockandawe Says:

    Counselor (aka Gear Head),
    I believe that’s “know-it-all” ~ not “no it all.”
Are they becoming a tad lenient on the spelling portion of the bar exam?
    Just curious….

I mean, legalese is one thing, but annihilating the English language is quite another. Your witness!

  37. Gear Head Says:

Fool? What are you some sort of gangster? If this isn’t a court room, then stop with your “no-it-all” bullshit you 5th grader! Stop getting the dictionary out and come up with some original takes you MORON! You contradict yourself you BAFOON! If I wanted to stir up some shit, I would squeeze your head, then get a stirring spoon MORON! You probably have no life and a sub-par education in special ED. I read your post. And to be frank, you come across as a asshole. And like I said, If I could fuck myself..I would! Is that all you can come up with?? Go fuck yourself? Go take some more steroids and get a temper more than you already have asswipe!

Sorry about my hyphen collapse. I didn’t know you were grading my grammer. Stick to writing in the “Fish Wrap” that probably pays mininum wage. You guys take this a tad serious don’t ya? Get a life! Oh I forgot, fish wrap writers don’t have a life! Excuse me professor. At least I have a Law degree and not a journalism career…WOW! Your a smart guy with those intelluctual words you use. Are you trying to be smart? hahahahahaha.

  38. byron Says:

Actually, the Bible is not a work of “fiction” but a compliation of ancient inspired writings which testify to the reality of the divine and mankind’s potential to be divine if it chooses to set its sights in this direction. Too many churches misinterpret the scriptures and so miss its vital message, namely that man is not merely an animal, but a spiritual being and the kingdom of heaven is a divine reality now which lives within us if we would focus on bringing this reality to light within our own consciousness. This is the Christ as Jesus taught and proved. Over the centuries, the church has reinvented the Christ message resulting in a loss of divine Love, divine Mind and spiritual power among “Christians” so-called. There are divine laws of Life which Jesus tried to make plain to his real followers starting with his teaching that “God is Love” and “God is Spirit”and that man is the image and likeness of of loving, spiritual God, Infinite Universal Creator. Yet churches fail these fundamentals and pin its hopes on a reinvented Jesus made in the image of its failed beliefs and the hypnosis used to reinforce this system. In a nutshell, don’t give up on finding spiritual truth in the Bible. Just don’t look at the Word through the eyes of the religious establishment, whose counterpart are the ancient loveless, matter-minded Pharisees who put Jesus to death.

  39. Phil Says:

Did you cut copy and paste that comment?

  40. Phil Says:

    Gear Head

  41. shockandawe Says:

    Yeah, exactly Phil….
“HUH?” is an understatement when it comes to GEARWANK.
Gear, it wasn’t you missing a HYPEN, you BONEHEAD. (You’re the bonehead I cover with my fishwrap, btw). And fyi, we get more than minimum wage, but because I write for national magazines, additionally, I actually make quite a tidy living.

As for you in your pathetic attempt to be someone on this board:
You’re as much a lawyer as Titus is a loving father and trusted husband.

Every lawyer I know follows up a crappy, poorly written bodybuilding Web site post with a maniacal: “HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA….”

Yeah. Okay counselor. Keep practicing anal lube law.

    I s

  42. shockandawe Says:

While Byron is a vicious plagiarist, Gear Head is just a total wanker. If he is a lawyer, he certainly has zero command of the english language. Which begs the question: Does he argue legal issues in a court of law with a client who depends upon his command of the english language? If so, I feel sorry for those $5/ hour clients.

    Here’s Gear’s passage:

Sorry about my hyphen collapse. I didn’t know you were grading my grammer. Stick to writing in the “Fish Wrap” that probably pays mininum wage. You guys take this a tad serious don’t ya? Get a life! Oh I forgot, fish wrap writers don’t have a life! Excuse me professor. At least I have a Law degree and not a journalism career…WOW! Your a smart guy with those intelluctual words you use. Are you trying to be smart? hahahahahaha.

  43. darkstar Says:

$5/ hour clients !!! Good one! I doubt the moron can con his “clients” out of even that high of a fee!! Robert Shapiro he aint!!

Gear Wanker is no lawyer, puleeze…the moron can barely put syllables together properly, not to mention a complete sentence. Any “law” degree he got came from the advert on the back of a matchbook which also sells courses on how to become a fry cook that he picked up on his way out of the unemployment office…….he is a total ass wipe, a little creep with nothing to say, a failure at everything he does… except at being a wanker…

This board needs that trial to get rolling, or it is going to start attracting more flies like Gear Wank…

  44. Gear Head Says:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA…HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHHAHAH. You MORON DARKSTAR! Go get a life and quit doing gay porn in Chatsworth on bed in a dirt field! You can’t handle the truth..can you? What a dick!

  45. shockandawe Says:

Gear, why is it you know SO MUCH about where gay porn is produced?
Chatsworth? Who knew Chatsworth was a hotbed for gay films….? I guess you did though. Golly, does your practice encompass “fluffing” for hot rod-hoisting hunks?

I can just picture you being rolled over on your stomach, and desperately yelling, “I OBJEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCTTT!!”

  46. Gear Head Says:

Ouch that hurts! I’m going to go crawl into a corner with a 12 pack and a blanket!

  47. darkstar Says:

    Gear Wank,

Obviously you are expressing your own reality…

What a dope…do you have anything of substance to say, or are you incapable of anything more than vulgar rants?

  48. shockandawe Says:

I hear that there’s a hot gay porn scene under bridges. Hurry up with that 12-pack. It won’t hurt as much after the sixth beer.

  49. Gear Head Says:

The only thing I have to say to you is : blah blah blah. That’s basically what I hear out of your mouth. Why don’t you go pick a fight with someone else little boy!

I’m glad (you) know where all the gay porn scenes are. I brought up Chatsworth, and you almost swallowed your tounge to bring up “GAY PORN” I never said gay porn smart guy. But it concurs your obsessed with it professor. Is your porn name “The Back Stabber”? For a fish-wrap writer you sure do seem to have a lot of time to write on this board about gay porn…eh?????

  50. shockandawe Says:

    Are you schizophrenic?

You TOTALLY mentioned gay porn, dude!

You said: “You MORON DARKSTAR! Go get a life and quit doing gay porn in Chatsworth on bed in a dirt field!”

Did someone stick a cock in your ear and scramble your brain!?

By the way, when you say “It concurs your obsessed with it professor” are you making an attempt to string together english words to make sentences?

  51. Gear Head Says:

I stand corrected. I did mention darkstar getting some gay porn! I opologize. My brain is scrambled. How did you know? Sorry I didn’t live up to my word. Can you ever forgive me professor? I promise I’ll get my facts straight and try to use ‘up to par” grammar in the future. Did I get a F on my post professor? It feels like you “red-inked” my post. I will try to follow the professor’s format next time! But shok, I think when you were reporting in Venice, you got some cock from the guys.. to do interviews with you… Didin’t you??? HAH? Your one of those Venice HONKS.

  52. darkstar Says:

    Gear Wank,

Why dont you at least make an attempt to say something worthwhile?
No one cares about your childish gay porn references to persons you know absolutely zero about..

    Original you arent. Just boring…

  53. shockandawe Says:

Well, you got me. I am ashamed to admit it, but I’m indeed a Venice Honk…whatever that is.

But actually, I got more cock from the girls in Venice than the guys - just a minor correction there. Oh crap… another correction. Tsk tsk, I have to mend my critical ways and give you a wide berth for error.

Gear Wank, I just want to know what your area of practice is in the legal arena, so I can warn family to stay away from: a) criminal activity, b) bankruptcy, c) accidents/ personal injury suits, or d) just anything else you may represent.
