Bodybuilder Murder Plot Thickens

A man with ties to two Las Vegas bodybuilders who are accused of murder is facing charges that he tried to hire a hit man to kill witnesses in the case.

Monday morning a judge gave Nelson Brady Jr. until Wednesday to hire a lawyer before starting his court proceedings.

The police report obtained by Channel 8 Eyewitness News outlines the details surrounding the arrest.

Nelson Brady, a former cellmate with Craig Titus, was arrested last week on three counts of solicitation to commit murder.

Husband and wife bodybuilders, Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan were charged with the December murder of their assistant, Melissa James.

James’ body was found in Ryan’s charred Jaguar in the desert off of SR-160. Prosecutors say she was drugged, shocked with a stun gun and strangled.

The police report says that Brady and Titus were cellmates in the Clark County Detention Center for a couple of weeks in February. When Brady was released from prison in early March, he allegedly met with an undercover detective who was posing as a hit man.

The report goes on to say that Brady paid a $1,500 down payment to have three potential witnesses murdered, all whom were expected to play major roles in the Titus murder case.

The prosecutor in the case has said that none of the witnesses — Megan Pierson Foley, her husband, Jeremy Foley, and Anthony Gross, a co-defendant in the case — were ever in danger.

Gross is accused of helping Titus and Ryan dispose of James’ body in Ryan’s car off a highway outside Las Vegas. Gross is on house arrest on $13,000 bail after pleading not guilty to accessory to murder and third-degree arson.

Craig Titus’ attorney says his client didn’t have anything to do with Brady’s plan to kill the witnesses.

Titus and Ryan’s trial is expected to start in January.
