Reports were true - Kelly’s charges have been up’d to murder. Craig and Kelly have both also been charged with kidnapping. Inside reports of a stun gun being used turned out to be true and are now being officially mentioned in the case. Things continue to take an interesting twist in this case…
LAS VEGAS Prosecutors are alleging that professional bodybuilders Craig Titus and Kelly Ryan used a stun gun, drugged and suffocated their live-in personal assistant before her charred body was found in Ryan’s burned-out Jaguar.
The account of the slaying comes from upgraded charges filed today (Wednesday) against Titus, a one-time bodybuilding champion — and Ryan, a past fitness title holder.
Murder and kidnapping charges were added to accessory and arson charges already filed against the 33-year-old Ryan.
Kidnapping was added to murder, accessory to murder and third-degree arson charges already lodged against the 41-year-old Titus.
Lawyers for both say they’re innocent in the slaying of 28-year-old Melissa James — a former fitness instructor who lived with Titus and Ryan.
A motive for the slaying remains unclear, and a prosecutor calls it premature to say whether authorities will seek the death penalty.
A judge set a February 10th date to consider bail for Titus and Ryan — and a March 29th date for a preliminary hearing in the case.
