In a bizarre twist to a grisly murder earlier this month near Las Vegas, a fugitive husband-wife bodybuilding team accused of strangling their personal assistant and setting her body on fire inside a 2003 Jaguar was arrested this afternoon in Stoughton, after they came to Massachusetts to liquidate their assets before fleeing the country, authorities said.
Craig Titus, 40, and his wife, Kelly Ryan, 33, both of Las Vegas, were arrested at about 3:45 p.m. today by FBI agents, Stoughton police, and Canton police at the Shaw’s Plaza on Route 138 in Stoughton, FBI spokeswoman Gail Marcinkiewicz said.
Titus is wanted in Nevada on charges that he murdered 28-year-old Melissa James on Dec. 14. Ryan was charged with being an accessory to the crime, according to an arrest warrant and criminal complaint from Clark County, Nev. Both also face third-degree arson charges. A third suspect, Anthony Gross, 23, was arrested this week in Las Vegas on arson and accessory charges.
A Las Vegas court issued a warrant for their arrest on Tuesday.
